Google announced that people with Google or Google Workspace accounts can create AI-generated video clips at no cost in Google Vids using Gemini Omni 1.1. The current announcement directs users to vids.new on desktop and the Create AI videos option. It does not state a universal generation quota in that announcement, so check the current in-product allowance instead of relying on a fixed number from older coverage.
Start a project and describe the result
- On a desktop browser, sign in to Google Vids with your Google account.
- Choose Create AI videos from the creation screen.
- Describe the purpose and audience before describing visual style. A prompt such as “Create a calm 20-second product introduction for a neighborhood plant shop” is more useful when followed by concrete visual direction: close-up leaves, bright window light, and a slow camera move.
- Generate the initial scene or draft, then inspect what the tool actually produced.
- Adjust scene timing and transitions, remove shots that repeat the same idea, and keep the final sequence focused.
- Add your own accurate text, narration, or footage where the AI version is unclear. Export or share only after watching the complete video from beginning to end.
Google describes controls for scene duration and transitions and says clips are generated at high definition, with 1080p described in its announcement. Use the settings presented in your account; product controls and access may change. Google also says Omni 1.1 clips in Vids carry an imperceptible SynthID watermark in the video frames. A viewer may not see that marker by looking at the video, but it can help identify AI-generated content through compatible verification tools.
Make the prompt easier to edit
Write a short scene list before generating. For example: (1) the problem, (2) the product or process, and (3) the result. Keep each scene to one action and use the same description for important objects across prompts. Avoid asking an AI clip to display exact product specifications, prices, or small text; add those in the editor after checking them yourself.
If the first result is unusable, change one prompt element at a time. Rewriting subject, camera, location, and mood all at once makes it difficult to identify what improved the result. Keep the original output until you have compared versions, and use generated material as a draft rather than treating a plausible image as evidence that an event happened.
Finish it for Facebook or another social platform
Decide the destination before export. A vertical layout can fit a short-form feed better, while a horizontal screen recording may be clearer for a tutorial. Keep faces, titles, and interface details away from the edges and test on a phone. Add captions for important speech, check pronunciation, and make sure the soundtrack is permitted for the destination and account type.
Google Vids offers a current free route for generating clips, but a “no cost” feature is not a guarantee of unlimited generations or a monetizable post. Facebook eligibility, originality, and views are separate questions. Read this guide to checking Facebook Content Monetization access before planning around earnings.
