Using AI to help create a Facebook video does not by itself establish whether that post is original, eligible for recommendation, or eligible to earn. Meta’s March 2026 originality guidance says content filmed or produced directly by a creator or Page owner is considered original. It also says a Reel using third-party material needs meaningful creator contribution—such as fresh information, analysis, or a substantial improvement to the storyline—to be treated as original. Minor edits and duplicative uploads may be deprioritized.
Add your own creative contribution
Use an AI tool to create an illustration, short transition, or draft scene, then build a video with an authored point of view. Explain why the scene matters, demonstrate a process, compare options, or tell a story that depends on your own research. A copied viral clip with an AI voice reading a summary is still built around someone else’s work; narration alone does not necessarily transform it.
A practical original workflow can look like this:
- Choose a question you can answer accurately.
- Write a short script in your own words and keep the source notes.
- Generate only the scenes that help the explanation, or film your own demonstration.
- Add your own commentary, examples, and corrections in editing.
- Use music, images, fonts, and voice assets whose terms allow your intended posting and monetization.
- Review the final video for false details, copied material, and synthetic elements that could confuse viewers.
This process improves authorship and clarity, but it does not guarantee monetization. You still need account access to the program, compliance with Facebook’s current monetization and community policies, rights for all assets, and eligibility for the particular post.
Understand AI labels separately from earnings
Meta’s published “AI info” approach says it may label AI-generated images, audio, and video when it detects industry-shared signals or when a person discloses the AI use. Meta also says it may apply a more prominent label to content that could materially deceive people about an important matter. The interface and requirements can change, so follow the current upload flow and disclose synthetic media when prompted or when omission could mislead an audience.
An AI label is not a monetization approval, and an AI-created visual is not automatically disallowed. Labels communicate information about how content was made; originality and monetization are separate evaluations. Never use a generated likeness of a real person to imply an endorsement or to make that person appear to say something they did not say.
Avoid low-value repetition
Do not mass-post slight variations of one template with swapped names or stock backgrounds. Make each post answer a distinct viewer question, and remove segments that add no explanation. If you reuse your own footage, give it a new purpose and context rather than uploading the same Reel repeatedly. Meta states that primarily unoriginal posting can affect recommendations and monetization.
