CapCut advertises a free AI video generator that can turn a script or prompt into an editable video draft. Its product pages describe adding a script or image, choosing settings, then reviewing and editing before export. CapCut also says the AI Video Maker may still be rolling out in its desktop app; its help page recommends trying CapCut Web if the desktop feature is not visible. Availability and included options can change by account, app version, and region.

Write a short script before opening the generator

Keep the first experiment to one idea and a few scenes. A practical 25-second explainer can use a hook, two useful points, and one closing action. Write what the viewer should learn, not a string of vague visual adjectives. For example:

> “Here are three ways to keep houseplant leaves healthy. First, check the soil before watering. Second, move the pot toward bright indirect light. Third, wipe dust from the leaves. Try one change this week.”

Confirm that each instruction is accurate for the plant or subject. AI-generated scripts can sound confident while omitting important conditions.

Create the draft in CapCut

  1. Sign in to CapCut Web or the version of the app where AI Video Maker appears.
  2. Open AI video maker or Free AI video generator.
  3. Paste a script you have checked, or use a prompt to request a draft outline.
  4. Choose the available aspect ratio, style, and voice options for the destination.
  5. Generate the first draft and watch the complete video.
  6. Replace scenes that do not match the narration. Check that stock media is licensed for the way you intend to use it.
  7. Edit the voice, captions, pacing, and transition points. Correct proper names and technical terms manually.
  8. Inspect the export screen for premium badges, watermark conditions, resolution options, and any cost notice before saving.

CapCut’s marketing page calls this generator free and says it can be customized with clips, music, captions, and voiceovers. Those claims describe the vendor’s offering, but individual models and assets can have different access conditions. If an element is marked Pro or triggers an upgrade prompt, replace it with an included alternative instead of assuming the whole export remains free.

Make the video your own

A script-to-video generator can assemble generic scenes that look similar to other videos. Add original demonstrations, specific examples, or an on-camera explanation to make the result useful and distinct. Do not download another creator’s Reel and make small changes such as speed, borders, or captions; Meta says low-value edits and reuploads are treated as unoriginal in its current creator guidance. See Facebook’s originality rules for AI-assisted video.

Use CapCut for a first draft, then decide whether its built-in generator is the best free option for your account. Clipchamp is useful when you have footage and need AI narration or captions, while Google Vids currently offers a separate Google-account workflow for generated clips.
